The Still Drum
The saddest day
I'll ever know,
I know and say here so.
Will be the day
that God calls down
for one of mine to go.
With Him, I know,
with love they'd go,
I know this to be so.
That's not to say
I'd be the same
when He calls
for mine to go.
In sync we march,
in step we go
with each our mighty drum.
In sync we play,
our song each day
a band of four, yet one.
Me lonely? No.
Me fearful? No.
Such things
I would not know.
But emptiness?
Oh yes, I'd know
the day He calls
for mine to go.
The saddest day
I'll ever know
I know and say here so.
Will be that day
one drum lies still
from the band
I love and know.
