Take the Lake 5K for Jan

We took the lake 

for Jan today 

and took with us 

along the way 

our tears, 

our hearts, 

our furious fight, 

for cures and hope 

the odds despite. 

As one we took,

but not in vain, 

the lake, 

the cause, 

on which we’ll gain.

We took with fury, 

and two in mind, 

the burden to finish 

their fight this time. 

We took today 

the lake and more, 

we gained resolve 

to find a cure. 

We raced our race 

3 miles long, 

we took the lake 

500 strong.
